Tohoku or the North East (东北） of Honshu, the main island of Japan is not well known beyond the astute Japan watcher. Many just past by on their way up to the the most norther island Hokkaido (北海道). But if tradition is what you are into, then Tohoku has bunches of it. It is mostly an agricultural area it is stooped in superstition and was never corrupted by the blazing Japanese economy of the 1980's.
